Trial Postponed Due to Judges Illness

The continuation of the trial has been scheduled for October 7, when recordings made during testimonies by three witnesses before The Hague Tribunal will be played in the courtroom, as per a proposal by the Defence.
After having heard audio recordings provided by The Hague Tribunal, Defence attorney Slavisa Prodanovic said that he had only received testimonies by three of the requested protected witnesses.
As far as the other ones are concerned, they sent the wrong ones again. We shall not submit a new request, but will ask the Court to admit Tribunals decisions, which are acquitting Krsmanovic of charges, Prodanovic said.
As per a request by the Defence, in October last year the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, sent a letter to the Tribunal in order to allow it to contact about ten persons, who previously testified at The Hague under protection measures.
When the Tribunal completed a several-month long procedure related to responding to this request and submitted the recordings, the Defence said, in July, that it had not received the testimonies by the requested witnesses, so a new request was sent.
The indictment charges Krsmanovic as former member of the Second Podrinje Light Infantry Brigade with the Republika Srpska Army, with having participated in murders, rape, torture and other inhumane acts against Bosniak civilians in Visegard in 1992.
